Product Description

We’ve heard a lot about people wanting to go to gyms because of the state of the art facilities which are accessible only to members. Now although that may sound great it can actually set you back a hefty sum of money in the long run, something that can easily be avoided if you do your own fitness routines. With a heart reader, you can monitor and keep track of your progress and even save a lot of money while giving you the freedom to exercise on your own. For each step of your development, Polar F4 is the ideal fitness partner!

Specially designed to accommodate every fitness enthusiast’s needs, the Polar F4 is there to monitor every rise and fall of heart rate as well as the amount of calories burned while keeping the readings remarkably accurate. A lot of machines can perform readings just as well but by using Polar F4, you can check on your progress anytime, anywhere—it’s almost like having your own set of high-tech equipment yourself.

Also, the Polar F4 is hydrodynamic and effectively resists water. This feature is particularly beneficial for those who engage in water activities such as swimming or water polo , as well as for those who love to sweat a lot.

With the Polar F4 heart rate monitor’s pre-installed target zones, you can monitor the variations in your heart rate as you exercise and send off alarms. This device allows you to see the number of beats per minute or bpm, the heart rate in percentage format versus your maximum heart rate, as well as the average time of your exercise.

              Features include:

              • Heart rate (both as bpm and as percentage of maximum heart rate)
              • Pre-set target zones
              • Graphical target zone display
              • Button-free operation
              • Water resistant
              • Displays date & weekday
              • Displays time (12/24h) with alarm
              • Visual & audible alarms for the target zones
              • KeyLock

                  Ideal to use when you're:

                  • Doing laps in a swimming pool

Good HRM - But make sure you read the directions.

Read the manual. One reviewer complained that it beeps constantly - she should have reset her target zone. I lamented that it kept reading too high, or became stuck on one heart rate even if I sprinted or stopped, or it displayed just zero zero. I discovered (by reading the directions)that I needed to turn my Blackberry off. It works fine if my phone is off!
                                        really great product!

this item is great! back light? if you put the watch up to the transmitter "heart touch", a back light goes on but only when you're exercising/transmitting. if you want to see the time/date in the dark you can do that also when exercising/transmitting by pressing the right button two times and do heart touch.

before purchasing this product i did some researching about brands, models etc. everyone seems to recommend polar. as far as i've searched this is the least expensive one which also has the "OwnCal" which is what shows calories burned. that's pretty much why i purchased this product is to measure my calories burned.

the watch gives pretty accurate calories burned readings, which was what i was most interested in.

product seems durable enough for me as long as i take care of it and wash it after usage.

one con, it doesn't tell you a minimum heart rate reading, or a RESTING HEART RATE during a workout period.

edit: just one more. if you're a "bigger guy" you probably won't fit the chest strap/transmitter they send as default. polar sends out a size medium which might fit most people. it fit me, but was a bit tight even after i've lost inches off my chest. the medium (which comes default) will fit a 25"-54" chest. i know you wear it just below the chest but it was still tight for me, my chest measures 43". the large, which is the biggest size they offer, will fit 33"-63" chest.

here's the amazon link for the large, which is what i ordered, to save you people time: http://www.amazon.com/Polar-Replacement-Elastic-Strap-Large/dp/B000C044N2/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
you can also search amazon yourself by searching for: Polar replacement strap

great product, i recommend it to all! everyone i showed it to finds it interesting. great tool if you're serious about exercising, a heart rate monitor with calories burned is a MUST HAVE!
                                        Excellent Polar!

I bought this polar, is not that expensive and is really simple to use. Plus, the old version had the securer of the watch band in the same plastic as the band, now, the securer is made with aluminum what makes it looks even better!! Elegant, light, very functional in a great price. I DO RECOMMEND IT!!!
                                        Great product

I live in Rio - Brazil. Bought this item on Nov 6th and received on the 17th at Good Deal Electronics. It is a very nice watch, good design and very easy to use. In fact I managed to start using without reading the manuals. Another great advantage is the size. I guess It's smaller than the mid-sized ones. Good, since I don't like big watches. I am very happy with this purchase, which was a good deal!
                                        Just Right!

This item was just what I was looking for. It gives me a constant readout of my heart rate when I am working out, tells me when I need to pick it up or take it down and even keeps a summary of my workouts for furture reference.
